¶ Step 2: Check Physical and Basic Settings
- Ensure Ethernet cable is connected properly
- Verify Wi-Fi is turned ON and connected to correct network
- Restart computer and networking devices (router/modem)
- Run
ipconfig
- Confirm system has a valid IP address
- IP starting with 169.254.x.x indicates DHCP failure
- Check default gateway and DNS entries
ping 127.0.0.1 → Tests TCP/IP stack
ping <gateway> → Tests local network
ping 8.8.8.8 → Tests internet connectivity
ping google.com → Tests DNS resolution

- Clear DNS cache using
ipconfig /flushdns
- Renew IP address using:
