ΒΆ Joining PCs to a Domain
- Domain: A centralized network managed by a domain controller (Active Directory).
- Purpose: Enables centralized user authentication, security policies, and system management.
- Requirements:
- PC connected to the domain network
- Correct DNS settings pointing to the Domain Controller
- Domain admin or authorized credentials
- Process:
- Go to System > About > Rename this PC (advanced) or System Properties
- Select Domain, enter domain name, and provide credentials
- Restart the PC after successful join
- Benefits:
- Centralized user login
- Group Policy enforcement
- Easier software, update, and security management
- Post-Join:
- Users can log in with domain accounts
- Policies and scripts apply automatically
